CHAMOMILE TEAWe Are Tea
TO CHAMOMILE OR TO CAMOMILE
Our herbal concoctions are not actually teas, but we still treat them equally as they’re pretty special.
Our whole chamomile flower tea comes from the Egyptian plains and we use just the head to deliver the best tasting brew. These delicate chamomile flower heads are easily damaged as they are hand-picked, packed, transported etc. which inevitably leads to some dust. To minimise this, we recommend you treat your chamomile tea gently.
Thought to have a number of medicinal qualities, this naturally caffeine free herbal infusion is light, sweet and calming - perfect for when you need to switch off and put your feet up. Well known benefits include sleep-promoting properties, relaxing muscles and soothing anxiety, you’ll therefore find it in our suitably named “Sleep” tea.
Fun fact: “Chamomile” derives from Latin and Greek and is less common than “Camomile” which derives from French.
Each box contains 15 whole leaf tea bags containing whole chamomile flowers
HOW TO MAKE A SOOTHING CUP OF CHAMOMILE TEA
Step 1: Use one whole leaf tea bag per cup.
Step 2: Use freshly drawn boiled water. All herbal infusions can take full heat!
Step 3: Decide whether you want to leave your bag in and add ginger, lemon, or honey for a chamomile twist
Keep away from moisture (until it lands in your cup!) We recommend you store your chamomile tea in an opaque, airtight container. It might look pretty in glass, but the light damages the tea leaves and subsequent taste. Nooooooo!
GUILT FREE SIPPING - THE ETHICAL TEA PARTNERSHIP
We’re a nation of tea monsters consuming over 165 million cuppas every year and growing. To keep up with the worlds growing love affair with tea in a socially just and environmentally sustainably way, the Ethical Tea Partnership was formed. Working with individual tea estates, we help producers & smallholder farmers raise their performance against international social & environmental standards to produce ethical tea, as well as address key issues holding back tea sustainability in the global tea producing regions. Funded by us and the other members, this training and support is free for the tea producers (yay).
Last year we were in the office discussing single use plastics and knew that we had to address this in any way we could. We coined the umbrella term guilt-free sipping to cover all our commitments to the environment going forwards. One of the biggies is removing pesky plastic from our packaging completely this year, we already have 100% biodegradable and compostable teabags and takeaway cups.
